Fair and Square just completed my full bathroom expansion and renovation – and we couldn’t be happier – they have exceeded all of our very high expectations. Rob (the owner) is professional, knowledgeable, patient, and always responded to our communications either right away or in under 24 hours. This spoke about the integrity of the owner – which is as important as the work itself. We were given a timeline – and was so well organized between his men and the sub-contractors – the job was completed on time – with no open punch list. Another of the reasons we selected Fair & Square for the renovation was the materials used on the job – all of which were quality and not skimped on. Other contractors gave us estimates for junk and fewer quality materials (ex: regular drywall vs. waterproof drywall, hollow door vs. solid door, etc). I’ve experienced contractors being paid well and using the cheapest of everything – not in this renovation – quality material was used across the board. I also can’t write this review without talking about Fair & Square’s crew. Most were with the company for years – and their loyalty to Fair & Square as well as their craft is displayed in all they do. They are extremely professional and mindful of being in someone’s house (unlike some contractors who’s employees rant loud conversations blowing F-bombs all day). What blew us away – was how skilled, meticulous and pleasant they are, and what an organized and well-oiled machine they ran every day. His crew let no detail to question and they astounded us every day by the craftsmanship of their work. Even when I changed things up along the way – which provided all sorts of challenges in material and schedule for them – it was never a problem. Day in and day out – I was told that they wanted to make sure they did it to our preference and not to their schedule – and – with a smile! They were never rushed – but worked so efficiently. Additionally, they were extremely neat – which is important to me. Their skill sets, work ethics, and characters were consistent can be commended. I will add that very importantly – throughout the renovation we felt very confident in Rob and his crew. We felt like we were in very capable and skilled hands – and we were. I’ll end with – last night was the first night in my new bathroom. I went through every square inch of the room (wiping everything down for first-time use) – from top to bottom. Every square inch of the bathroom – is perfect – I found nothing to wonder about. We made the right choice – in fact, they are returning in January for another project. I would highly recommend them – if you are looking for a contractor – give Fair & Square a call – talk to the owner about the work you would like done – and see for yourself!

We hired Fair & Square to remodel our bathroom that was in bad shape. The original builder of the house had used terrible materials, green board, with no waterproofing membrane etc. From the first time I met Rob, I was pleasantly surprised. Many contractors come into your home with an overbearing sense of bravado. Not Rob. He was genuine, soft spoken and took the time to explain everything etc. He suggested moving the toilet over a few inches to give some additional room for the shower as well as the radiator. There was a lot of mold in the studs and I requested that Rob takes out all of the rotted studs, install new plywood sheathing, studs, insulation, siding, cement board and waterproof everything with RedGard. There was never a problem meeting with my requests, even installing a window. Fair and Square has a great crew as well. Danny was very respectful of our home, always cleaning up, taking the extra step to even work late to ensure things got done and cleaning up before he left every day. James the tile setter is one of those guys that does a mud floor dead level and creates awesome tile work. The plumbing contractor that Rob used came in and did some awesome work, even sweating solder and then sanding it down for any exposed pipework, such as the toilet fill pipe so everything looked clean and polished. Exceeded my expectations by far. Rob was very masterful as scheduling all of his workers and subs in perfect cadence. There was never an occasion where people were stepping over each other etc. As a general contractor, Rob has this down to a science and I would never hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Rob and his crew at Fair & Square Contracting just finished a big project in my house. I would highly recommend using them. They did an amazing job and did exactly what they said they were going to do. They were done is exactly the time frame Rob gave us and went above and beyond in what needed to be done. They were on time every day and always left the place neat and clean. I was so happy with the turnout of everything that I will be using them again in April for renovation. I give them 5 stars for workmanship, honesty, cleanliness and doing exactly what they said they would do. Very happy customer.

Rob and his staff were super friendly and did a great job! We had painting in several rooms done, a new stoop installed, and new basement stairs installed. They went above and beyond scope of work, and left our place exceptionally clean all throughout and when they were finished. Great communication, and very detail oriented as well. Rob and his crew just finished in the downstairs of my house. New floors, walls, moldings, and painting. It looks like a brand new place. I am so happy with all the work they did and highly recommend them. They did everything exactly like they said. Very honest, clean and professional from start to finish. I was so happy with the outcome of everything that I am having them back in April to do my upstairs.
