Bathroom Remodeling Services on Long Island

Whether it’s a master bath or a small powder room, we have the expertise to create the bathroom of your dreams and/or upgrade an existing bathroom. A simple update to your cabinetry and fixtures or a complete custom remodel can create the space and functionality you need. We focus on every detail to bring your project to life until you’re satisfied. Fair & Square Contracting’s design and building experts will get the job done right while working with you from start to finish.

Modern bathroom remodeling offers more design opportunities than ever. While you’re making plans, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Color Affects Size – Light colors make a small bathroom look bigger, especially white to cream shades
  • More Lighting – Too often bathrooms only have one light fixture in the ceiling. For a fully functional bathroom, a variety of lighting is best, especially near the mirror. Even adding decorative sconces in addition to primary lighting can make a difference.
  • Neutral fixtures – Color is great but neutral, especially white and cream, fixtures look timeless. Colored fixtures can appear dated quickly and while a toilet can be changed fairly easily, the sink and bathtub are more complicated.
  • Dim the Lights – Dimmer switches provide flexibility – bright lights for everyday use, dim lights for relaxing baths.
  • In or Out – Recessed medicine cabinets, soap dishes, toilet roll holders, etc. are an old-fashioned look that also saves space

Maura's Customer Testimonial
We hired Fair & Square to remodel our bathroom that was in bad shape. The original builder of the house had used terrible materials, green board, with no waterproofing membrane etc. From the first time I met Rob, I was pleasantly surprised. Many contractors come into your home with an overbearing sense of bravado. Not Rob. He was genuine, soft spoken and took the time to explain everything etc. He suggested moving the toilet over a few inches to give some additional room for the shower as well as the radiator. There was a lot of mold in the studs and I requested that Rob takes out all of the rotted studs, install new plywood sheathing, studs, insulation, siding, cement board and waterproof everything with RedGard. There was never a problem meeting with my requests, even installing a window. Fair and Square has a great crew as well. Danny was very respectful of our home, always cleaning up, taking the extra step to even work late to ensure things got done and cleaning up before he left every day. James the tile setter is one of those guys that does a mud floor dead level and creates awesome tile work. The plumbing contractor that Rob used came in and did some awesome work, even sweating solder and then sanding it down for any exposed pipework, such as the toilet fill pipe so everything looked clean and polished. Exceeded my expectations by far. Rob was very masterful as scheduling all of his workers and subs in perfect cadence. There was never an occasion where people were stepping over each other etc. As a general contractor, Rob has this down to a science and I would never hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I emailed Rob about a missing piece of fascia on my house and within days he was there to complete the work. (The weather hadn’t permitted him to come any sooner) He had previously replaced a screen door on our house as well. He’s courteous & cleans up after himself. Highly recommended.

Our experience with Fair and Square Contracting was positive all the way from start to finish of our kitchen remodeling project. Rob Russo explained everything to us and took the time to answer all our questions. Rob always answered his cell phone or called us back promptly when we called him. He was here every day to monitor the work being done by his crew. The men working for him are professional, hard-working individuals who did excellent work. The finished product is beautiful.

My wife and I had a set of basement stairs that were falling apart. We contacted Fair and Square for an estimate. After meeting Rob and getting a good estimate on the stairs we decided to go through with having them build the stairs. We couldn’t be happier with his work. His crew was on time and did a great install. When they left you would have never known a contractor was there that day. We intend on using Fair and Square again in the future for a new Kitchen and bathroom. I would Highly recommend Fair and Square to anyone looking for a professional contractor.

Fair and Square is the name of Mr. Robert Russo’s construction company of Farmingdale, in Long Island. Those two words perfectly define what Mr. Russo’s company is all about: fair and square: extraordinary service at reasonable cost. From the very first meeting, when Mr. Russo came to the house to look at the architect’s blue print, he impressed us by his clear, sincere and professional approach to his business. The project, to redo the foundations of the main entrance of the house with new foundations, new steps and platform, building a porch and changing the door, small or midsize job didn’t matter: he explained very clearly what the work would entail, steps and flow of the work, materials needed and cost, which he followed strictly from beginning to end, even when some aspect of the project required more work and more time than originally anticipated. Mr. Russo was involved in every step of the work. He has a pool of very well trained and hard working people: very professional, hardworking and with lots of experience. The crew that was most involved in our project, Sergio and his two assistants, performed an excellent work: highly skilled workers in masonry, carpentry and in all around construction work, they complemented each other perfectly, and together they did an excellent job. They were very accommodating and open to consider some small details and suggestion from us. Their work, particularly some details in the porch and the doorframe, was extraordinary. They were equally very generous with their time, specially the last day when they had to extend their time to accede to our request to finish the work on that weekend. Mr. Russo was always available and prompt to attend to any of our concerns. Would I recommend him and his company? I am already looking at our next house project to fall into Fair and Square work schedule!

I needed someone to find a leak in the roof & fix it. Called in the morning & Rob came in the afternoon. No waiting for days. He went over & above what needed to be done. I will use him again & will recommend this company. Professional, friendly & thoughtful. Thank you, Rob!

This is the second time using Fair & Square Contracting. Rob and his team did an amazing professional job. We cannot be any happier with this total renovation of our dining room and living room. It was a complete gut job down to the studs and what they rebuilt is just amazing. They even custom made my archway door. I totally recommend them for any job you may need. They are responsible, clean and professional all the way. We look forward to using them again when we do our kitchen.
